There are Giants fans and there are Giants fanatics.

The Engle family would fall into the latter category.

"We were just born Giants fans," Dan Engle said Sunday as he watched the Super Bowl at his parents' house in Effort.

The home, owned by Robert and Sue Engle, is equipped with its own "Giants shrine" ? a room filled with a Giants recliner, team autographs, assorted memorabilia and even stadium seats.

"My son came home from the hospital with a Giants jersey on," Dan Engle said of his son Ben Engle, 7.

The family's love of all things Big Blue started with Robert Engle's father, Frank Engle, who when he passed away was buried in Giants regalia.

Frank Engle, a Bayonne, N.J., native, would regularly watch the Giants games and passed on his love of the team to Robert Engle, who watched all the Giants games with children Dan Engle, Robert Engle Jr., Frank Engle and Erika Weiss.

The family usually watches the Super Bowl, but Sunday's game was treated especially like a holiday since it featured the Engles' beloved team.

"This is just the ultimate sporting event. It's like the pinnacle to see your team in the game," Robert Engle said as he watched the game on the edge of his Giants-themed recliner.

"I learned early on in our marriage that you don't clean the house or vacuum on Sundays. Sunday is for football," Sue Engle said. "My dad used to watch football, but it was never, ever like this."

Six of the couple's eight grandchildren watched the game, their faces painted in red and blue, all with matching jerseys they got for Christmas.

Even Sue Engle and Robert Engle's Labrador retrievers, Teddy and Max, wore matching Giants shirts.

With every critical move, the room erupted in cheers, high-fives and hugs.

When asked if he thinks his family is the most dedicated of the Giants fans, Dan Engle replied, "I don't doubt it. We have friends who are Giants fans, but not like this."
