Properties available to rent in Wimbledon Town | Home Remodeling ...

Wimbledon has a traditional portfolio of homes ranging from modern style flats to Georgian and Victorian style villas. You may also be lucky enough to find the occasional premium size mansion around the common, which demand high prices in this area. The common stretches to Putney Vale and with a village at the centre; it is a prestigious and sought after location.

Wimbledon village is located at the top of a hill, connecting lanes to the common with boutiques galore. The bottom of the hill lies Wimbledon Town Broadway, this is the commercial area and where you will find not only train and Tube stations but also a tram link that will take you across south London. With a shopping mall plus bars, cafes, cinema and theatres this is a bustling area of Wimbledon.

Property in Wimbledon Town averages between lb400 and lb500 per square foot, equating to house prices from around lb250,000. Square footage in the village cost as much as twice this price, on par with areas such as Marylebone in central London.

For a short commute to central London, the reward will be more space for your money. Wimbledon is 20 minutes on the Tube to High Street Kensington and approximately 17 minutes to Waterloo via the train. Enjoy the ?country air? without the expensive property prices of locations such as Chelsea.

With a constant stream of ?tear down? projects in the area, previously undesirable properties are being rebuilt using the same location. Homes are being converted back to family homes after previously being split into flats, known as reverse conversions.

The pre-tennis launch of two larger projects has proved special. This is down to the fact that new homes are either rare, one off or infill schemes.

This weekend will see the unveiling of the first phase of homes completed in Wimbledon Hill Park. Each property in the initial completion comprises of both grand entertaining areas and terraces on the roof. In total, there are eight family homes, which will be followed by 26 apartments within the restored Atkinson Morley Hospital. In total, there will be 94 houses within Wimbledon Hill Park, set in a walled estate and set in 25 acres of lush grounds.

Ten individually designed properties are the debut of developers London Square. Using traditional garden squares as the base of their architectural design, the homes are set overlooking King?s College School playing fields. Wimbledon Village has a sought-after location, close to the local riding club, village centre and high rating schools in the Wimbledon area.

Fairlawns is a converted mansion, located by Wimbledon Parkside and now home to 10 apartments. Marryat Place is close to prestigious All England Tennis Club and consists of six homes with one vehicle off-street parking.

A refurbished Edwardian mansion, Lampton House is an amazing property in Wimbledon. It comes complete with a sunken garden room, glazed atrium and a sizable half-acre of land.

With a mixed-use scheme including shops, offices and shared ownership properties Chorus is a 60 home property development at the end of the Broadway.
