Our Risk Manager position will offer you an exciting opportunity to help our Power division?provide a safe and reliable source of Electric power to heat homes and schools, run factories, and provide goods and services we all depend upon. Each day your expertise in risk management will enable our utility Clients to meet the power needs of their customers.

Our Risk Manager:


  • Plan, develop and manage the overall Business Group Risk Management Plan (BGRMP).?
  • Monitor and adjust the BGRMP, as required, to meet the needs of the business group and the changing business environment.
  • Champion the business groups drive for a pro-active risk management culture with accountability through the layers of line management and enable the business group to demonstrate effective risk management practices through operational reporting.
  • Plan, develop and manage the business groups risk management policies, processes and procedures/work instructions, in coordination with corporate risk management and business group quality management. Identify, deploy and ensure that risk management policies, procedures and tools established by both corporate and business group risk management teams are being followed and used efficiently and effectively throughout the business group to achieve the corporate and business units? risk management objectives.
  • Identify, develop, train and deploy, robust quantitative and qualitative risk management practices utilizing the best practices of the Engineering and Construction Risk Institute, Inc . (ECRI), and standard Monte Carlo style probabilistic risk management modeling. Plan, organize and carry out risk reviews on proposals and projects while liaising with appropriate business group departments, project personnel and corporate departments.
  • Liaison between the Power Business Groups Project Acquisitions Group (PAG), contracts and legal departments and the corporate risk management teams as related to coordinating (1) Go- No Decision Making, (2) Opportunity Risk Reviews, (3) New Country Approvals, (4) Deep Dive Estimate Reviews, (5) Contract Reviews and Approvals, (6) Audits, and (6) other things as identified with the Corporate Risk Management and Corporate Audit departments.
  • Actively provide risk training to all business group employees to ensure that risk management policies, processes, procedures/work instructions and tools are well understood and utilized appropriately; while updating regularly new elements of risk and the evolution of our risk management process.
  • Facilitate project based risk management workshops with project teams to monitor and help our teams identify and manage project risks.
  • Monitor and report on the business groups risk maturity model as well as emerging and ongoing risk management issues to our business group?s leadership team and identify corrective measures that should be undertaken.
  • Ensure, at all times, that the business group is aware of any risks involved with the projects we undertake or strategies we deploy that could impact the business groups bottom-line performance.
  • Monitor risk developments globally which may include project related, geographic or political based risks with our global project delivery management teams.
  • Prepare various risk management documentation and reports, as required. Assist project managers in risk management problem resolutions.

  • 10 years experience with a wide variety of contracting strategies, including reimbursable, target?price, incentive, and lump sum arrangements.
  • 10 years experience working with a wide variety of project delivery types, including services/consulting, EPC, program management in the power market space, across global locations.
  • Successful risk management experience associated with large capital projects (>$300m USD) and/or lump sum arrangements, ideally inside a service provider (EPC) company.
  • 5 years experience with risk managemen?methodologies utilizing Monte Carlo analysis models. Bachelor?s degree in project management, engineering, business or construction is required.
