Immortals slaughtered the box office competition in its first weekend of release, grossing an estimated $32 million, Box Office Mojo reports.
Adam Sandler's latest film, Jack and Jill, laughed up $26 million in its opening weekend. In its third week out, Puss in Boots was nipping at Sandler's heels with $25.5 million; after three weekends, its take totals $108.8 million.

Tower Heist took fourth place with $13.2 million. The weekend's third new film, J. Edgar, premiered to $11.4 million. At No. 6, A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas attracted $5.9 million. In Time drew $4.1 million to come in seventh.
Rounding out the top 10: Paranormal Activity 3 (No. 8, $3.6 million, breaking $100 million after four weeks), Footloose (No. 9, $2.7 million) and Real Steel (No. 10, $2 million).
